Human Appeal in Eqypt

Very few people think about the levels of abject poverty lack of education and medical facilities in Egypt. In 2004 HAI staff visited Egypt to assess the prospect of working in short and long-term projects. After careful study HAI began the process of helping the poor and needy in Egypt.

Over the last year…

Towards the start of the year Human Appeal International initiated work in Egypt. HAI funded the building of the second floor of the Khanka clinic. The second floor has a dental lab and a gynaecology ward which was greatly needed by the local community. Many people are now able to receive treatment in their own neighbourhood instead of travelling to the city’s main hospitals.

HAI in Egypt

Helping the needy children especially orphans are a priority for Human Appeal. HAI is supporting a total of 60 orphans in Egypt. Looking after their basic needs it is envisaged that this figure is sure to rise in the coming months and years ahead.

HAI also purchased an ultra sound machine which was donated to Khanka clinic in Cairo. This machine was essential in helping the clinic to diagnose patients early in order to begin their treatment. Medical equipment is urgently required as medical care for the underprivileged is not easily accessible and affordable.

HAI implemented the Qurbani project in Egypt working through local partner organisations in the district of Kalyubiyah in Khanka village. Over 500 families benefited from this project.

HAI intends to undertake Ramadan feed the fasting iftars and Qurbani food distribution projects as an annual event in the country as well as looking to fund educational and development projects in the coming future.
