Shelter

Imagine one morning that your family home and entire neighbourhood were destroyed. What would you do? Where could you go? If you can picture this tragic scene then you truly begin to empathise and understand the trauma experienced by victims of natural disasters and war. With global warming and climate change an ever-increasing threat – as well as international and internal conflict – more people will be without shelter exposed to extreme weather conditions. Without the protection that shelter provides people can die.

Human Appeal International fully realise the importance of shelter and have been providing it to thousands of people since 1991. Whenever there is an emergency we are there to distribute tents and shelters to those in need. We supply winter tents approved by the United Nations which can hold up to 8 people at a time. They protect people from freezing cold weather heavy rain storms and bitter gale winds. As part of our long-term Development Projects we also provide permanent housing shelter units.
