Wrap Up Manchester
In November 2016, we partnered with Hands On London to create Wrap Up Manchester, a coat-collection scheme providing warm outerwear for some of Greater Manchester's most vulnerable people.
More than 1,500 coats and other items, including hats and scarves, were donated and distributed to homeless shelters, women's refuges, refugee shelters, the elderly, and children in need.
Our generous donors were able to drop off their coats to 9 participating Safestore facilities, and rest assured that their old coat would be given a new lease of life! The courier service CollectPlus also got involved, offering free labels for those wishing to donate outside Greater Manchester.
Without the support of our amazing partners Hands On London, Safestore, CollectPlus, and wnDirect, this incredible project would not have been possible.
#WrapUpMCR also caught the eye of Greater Manchester mayoral candidate Andy Burnham MP, who joined us at a Barnabus drop-in centre to distribute donated coats.
