Join Qari Dr Ahmed Nuaina and Human Appeal for a series of fantastic, free events at a mosque near you this February, in aid of our Syria Emergency Appeal.

The Cause - Syria 8 Years On

Since the Syrian conflict began on March 15, 2011, hundreds of thousands of innocent people have been killed and an entire nation has been torn apart. Syrian families have been through unimaginable suffering. Over 13 million people need humanitarian assistance, including 6 million internally displaced and 5 million refugees outside Syria.

After nearly eight years of brutal conflict, children, women and the elderly can only remember brutal violence, trauma and loss. It is critical that we remember their pain.

Please join us as we listen to the spiritually uplifting words of Dr Ahmed Nuaina for this night to remember dedicated to the people of Syria.

Dr Ahmed Nuaina

Dr. Ahmed Nuaina was born in 1952, in Motobas, Egypt. After completing his education, he joined the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alexandria. Following graduation, he worked at the University Hospital in Alexandria and was later appointed Vice Director at the University Children’s Hospital and Vice Director at the Therapeutic Institution.

By the time he was eight years old, the Sheikh had completely memorised the holy Quran and later learned the art of Tajweed under the supervision of Sheikh Ahmad Al Shawa. In 1967, President Anwar Sadat, listened to the Sheikh’s recitation of the Qur’an and recruited him as a personal doctor. He also ordered that the Sheikh read the Quran wherever he went. As a result, he was named “The Presidency Quran Reader” and kept this name for many years.

Sheikh Ahmed Nuaina has read in front of famous kings and presidents alike and has travelled the world. He has won first prize in international Quran reading competitions, including India, Malaysia and in the Sultanate of Brunei. Don’t miss your chance to see him here in the UK this February.
