In the UK, 8.4 million people, the equivalent of the entire population of London, are struggling to afford to eat. Join us on the 24th of June to help feed the needy.
More than 270,000 tonnes of surplus goods from the UK food industry could be redistributed to feed those in need every year. This is why we are partnering with FareShare, a charity that turns an environmental problem into a social solution by redistributing surplus food to those in need.
Our Ramadan Kitchen Project will provide 400 charities, organisations and initiatives that tackle food poverty across Greater London and Greater Manchester with trays of ingredients and recipes.
This project will benefit a number of charities and community groups including children's lunch and holiday clubs, lunch clubs for older people or those who are socially isolated, hostels for the homeless, rehabilitation centres, community centres for families, and refuges for survivors of domestic abuse.
These trays will be prepared by 40 Human Appeal volunteers in partnership with FareShare, and will allow communal meals to be shared with 9,000 vulnerable beneficiaries.
