Shine a Light Tour

25 June – 05 July 2015

Save lives in Pakistan, Palestine and the Rohingya refugees* with Junaid Jamshed and Amjad Hussain (Including special guests Fatih Seferagic, Boonaa Mohammed & Shaykh Navaid Aziz in selected cities only).

This enlightening tour is taking place in cities across the UK, so come and be inspired this Ramadan for a great cause.

From providing safe housing and healthcare to delivering sustainable development programmes, we’re rebuilding lives, so come and save lives at our Shine a Light Tour.

Special guests Boonaa Mohammed, Navaid Aziz and Fatih Seferagic will also be joining Junaid Jamshed and Amjad Hussain in Birmingham, Leicester, Cardiff, Luton and Manchester where we will be raising money to provide clean water in Gaza, build a much-needed orphanage in Jerusalem and provide life-saving aid for the Rohingya refugees.

Bios

Junaid Jamshed

This multi-talented recording artist gained international recognition as a vocalist for Vital Signs. Since 2004, he’s been focused on faith inspired songs. His debut nasheed album, Jalwa-e-Janan, was released in 2005, followed by Mehboob-e-Yazdaan, Badr-ud-Duja and Badee-uz-Zaman.

Amjad Hussain

Amjad Hussain was a former folk-singer with internationally acclaimed hits such as ‘Tera Pakistan, Mera Pakistan.’ Following a change in career, Amjad Hussain now recites Hamds and Nasheeds and dedicates a lot of his time and efforts supporting humanitarian programmes.

Fatih Seferagic

After finishing the hiffdh program, Fatih studied Arabic in Dallas, Texas at the Bayyinah Dream Program with Nouman Ali Khan. He now travels the world, teaching the Quran and runs his own program for children learning how to read and memorise the Quran in Indiana.

Shaykh Navaid Aziz

Hailing from Canada, Shaykh Navaid has a way of making each student feel special, as though he is talking to them on a one-to-one basis. He completed a degree in Commerce and Social Sciences before heading to the illustrious Islamic University of Madinah. Upon returning to North America Shaykh Navaid joined the speakers circuit and has travelled the world both lecturing and teaching. He serves the community as a family and youth counsellor and is the Islamic editor for Recess Kids magazine in North America and Little Explorers magazine in the United Kingdom.

Boonaa Mohammed

Boonaa Mohammed is an award winning writer and performer. He undertook a playwright residency at Theatre Passe Muraille, had a short story published in a Penguin Canada anthology called "Piece by Piece" and won the 2007 CBC Poetry Face-Off "Best New Artist" award. He has travelled across the world, speaking alongside some of the most influential scholars and entertainers of our time. He frequently conducts writing workshops and seminars, sharing his experience and expertise in spoken word story-telling with youths from all walks of life.
