Violence in Gaza and Jerusalem must end now
Human Appeal unequivocally condemns the ongoing violence in Gaza and in Jerusalem at Al-Aqsa Mosque, and stands in solidarity with those who have been injured during these needless clashes.
It is estimated that over 300 people have been injured during the violent scenes in recent days.
We are monitoring the situation on the ground and are assessing our capability to respond to this emergency. Human Appeal stands ready to do whatever it can to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and in Jerusalem at one of Islam’s holiest sites, at the end of the holiest month.
Dr Mohamed Ashmawey, Human Appeal CEO said:
“This tragic, needless violence has already left hundreds either injured or mentally scarred for life. At a time when Muslims around the world are using the holy month of Ramadan to reflect on how to bring about a more peaceful world, the rising tensions in Jerusalem have brought that crashing down.
“We will do whatever is needed to get help to those who have had their lives turned upside down by this violence, to show once again that the best way to combat humanity at its worst is to be a shining example of humanity at its best.”
